Hey everyone. I am about to get some personalized/vanity plates for my black with black leather interior S40 T5 AWD and I thought it would be a cool idea to have the plate be something in Swedish since it is a Swedish car.<br> Two words I have been kicking around are 'powerful' or 'shadow'. The translation I have gotten for powerful is 'Maktig' with the two dot symbol over the 'a'. Is this the right word for this application?<br> For 'shadow' I have found 'skugga'. Does that work with this application?<p>Other words I have been thinking of are 'beast' (odjur) and 'fast' (snabb?). If someone who is a native or knows language well could let me know if these translations are correct and fit the naming of the car that would be great. If you have any suggestions let me know as well, but be sure to have the English translation, too. The Swedish word needs to be 8 letters or less. I'm trying to lean away from 'snabb' because the two words I do think of are snob and saab when I see snabb...the main one I am interested in is the maktig for powerful or something similar...thanks for the input. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif" BORDER="0">

Does that work with this application?</TD></TR></TABLE><p>Exactly what meaning of "powerful" are you trying to convey? "Mäktig" means powerful, but I wouldn't use it for an engine, for example. Then "kraftfull" may be a better translation. "Mäktig" is a cool word though. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif" BORDER="0"> There are some other slang words, like "maffig" that might work.<p>"Skugga" does mean shadow, both in noun and verb form.
