Would having Different Tires effect the AWD on S60R?
I wanted to know if having two sets of different tires on a S60R would have an adverse effect on the AWD system and on its performance?
This question is actually for my buddy who needs to replace two tires on his S60R. He is unable to get the same make and model of his current tires due to manufacturing and distribution issues. BTW, he's running on 18" Pegs (235-40-18)
Point being, if he only changes two of his tires, not only will the thread wear be different but the make and model would be different as well.
Does unequal tread wear have an effect?
Does different tread pattern (performance rating) have an effect?
Is this a problem?
I appreciate your advice.
Cheers,
