Well not really. Here's hoping it doesn't get totaled by the insurance company

Long story short. Some lady wasn't paying attention, hit me, which caused me to hit two or three other cars. All at low speed, probably 35mph.

Some woman behind me in a Dodge Durango wasn't paying attention. She hit me square enough in the back, that I think just the trunk lid and bumper has to be replaced. I got out and checked the damage. Nothing really seemed bent, framewise.

The way people drive nowadays is absolutely sickening. Even more than ever, you have to drive FOR them, constantly assuming that the person doesn't see you, or doesn't care about their car. it's disgusting.
At least you're alright. And I agree, it doesn't look "too" bad, but you never know with insurance companies.

Re: (PhilUp)

today alone I saved my R twice. Both times I was in left lane and in both cases the morons driving SUV's decided to cut through 3 lanes of traffic, One was very very close( 5 inches at the most I was on his bumper) , another was 15 min later, I saw the driver change one lane very fast so I hit the brakes and once again I was on the bumper of SUV.
Brembos do a decent job of preventing accidents to happen

Re: (Needsdecaf)

There is a great lack of discipline in America. It seems that people get their drivers license at walmart at a very young age.
I got out of the Army while stationed in Germany and when I got back to America I felt scared about driving in Houston, Tx. Seems like nobody uses the turn signal and everybody talks on cell phones. Roads are littered with obstacles from tire treads to buckets, I've seen it all.
So far I've only got a ding on my pax side door from a parking lot and I parked far away!
Now that I remember, I got my drivers license in the summer of 2005 right when I got out of the military. I joined right out of high school and never got it because I was stationed in S. Korea and then to Germany. I went to the DMV thinking I got two military drivers licenses and a German drivers license so I should just get my Texas license. Nope! I had to take the computer test and the driving test. Guess what? I failed the computer test! It was confusing and a lot of the questions where DUI questions which I had no clue because I've never gotten one.
So I retook the test without ever studying the booket, and I passed. The driving portion was a joke and then they took my picture that was it.
This country needs higher standards and strict rules and restrictions. I've seen little kids and old people with ventilators driving. Children jumping in the front seat instead of sitting in a booster, cars with no bumpers or fenders, rags for a gas cap. But cops don't care they just want to give speeding tickets.

I completely agree with licenses being all too easy to get here.
What I really don't agree with is them providing translators to people who can't speak / read english to help with testing!
Sorry, but if you cannot READ and SPEAK english ride the freakin bus.

Oh yeah, looks like a super easy fix. I highly doubt they're going to total that.
Did the rocker panel below the door get damaged? Does the rear door still open and close ok? If no rocker damage and rear door functions ok it is an easy fix.

Re: (firehawk618)

I didn't check the rear door, but the door that god hit still opens and closes.
Hell, the window still rolled down most of the way! It was on a road where people had just gotten a green light, the cars that hit me couldn't have been going more than 35, so I don't think it's going to be that bad.
According to the true market value of the car, it hasn't depreciated at all since I got it in November. Still sitting at $18k. I doubt there's enough damage to eclipse $18k.
If they don't total it and fix it, it means a new paint job and a new body kit(so free winglets!) I have to look on the bright side of things after all.

I got rear ended (actually the person behind me did and got pushed into me) and I needed around $6k of work because the trunk floor was slightly buckled and there's a boron steel beam behind the bumper that was bent.

I hope you get new winglets.
My car came new with the sport kit and not only has one minor accident on the carfax, it has a sport bumper with NO holes drilled for winglets. Conclusion: bumper was replaced with no winglets. There could be several reasons for this, such as the owner not wanting them. But push for the winglets if you can!

New Sport Body Kit, and as I'm not sure if I had it in 1st or not, and if I had the clutch disengaged during the hit, I'd like an authorized Volvo mechanic to take a look at it as well. Make sure all of the driveline components are fine, in case it was in gear with an engaged clutch.
Last thing I need is to get it back all pretty like, and have the clutch fail on me.

hey maybe something to brighten the day. I like the look of the clear (broken) tail lights on your color combo. I had to look twice to make sure they were broken. No real way to get the stock ones clear obviously and no aftermarket would sell any lenses like it but hey. it looked good from one angle after the crash.
