So I found this "gem" and we went ahead with a purchase. I didn't know that this generation R came in Nautic blue. Anyhow, here is our specimen. I will track progress as we bring it back to life (hopefully).

That's awesome man, I wish I had the time/money/expertise to do something like that, I think that would be a blast.

That is very cool! I'd say that color is a major keeper.

Lock it at night. Chain the chassis to a tree. Leave beer and playboy magazines nearby. That will slow down potential attackers

Every morning verify that it has the same transmission as the night before.

JK, great project Mike!

They didn't.
That is a Canadian car. A few Nautic Blue R's made it to Canada (and Europe)
Never for sale here as a US car

I don't think it's Canadian actually. I ran the carfax on it. It was sold new in Southboro, MA and was there for a little while, then off to California, then to PA and then to NJ where it finally suffered it's untimely demise.

Carfax could be wrong I guess, but it is clearly dated, etc. It was a two owner car too for what it's worth.

Anything is possible.
Perhaps it was special ordered thru OSD, Nautic Blue was NOT a US color.
Just like the 04R's, you could get Cosmos blue everywhere else but here

Keep us posted on the progress. Looks to be a true one of a kind diamond in the rubbish pile.

I love my venetian red but this color blue is very, very nice!

Well, if it is Canadian, then it should be mine!

And I'm not that far from Chocolate Town. Keep that chain nice and tight!
