Just thought I'd post a few pics up of the R as we make our way out to Colorado. It's been a blast to drive, though it is a bit loaded, and at higher speeds, aero is DEFINITELY affected...<p>Reguardless, the R is turning quite a few heads on the road. Lots of bikers on the road as well (Sturgis this weekend maybe??) and even bikers in the opposite direction... you can see them turn and look as I zip by.<p>Even had a guy in an S80 give me a wave and thumbs up. Older gentleman as well. Was very shocked. I'm even more in love with my car than ever.<p>If you dread bugs, the last pics may be too graphic for you <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/biggrin.gif" BORDER="0"> <p>Happy Trails!<p>Couple from Quincy Mineshaft in Hancock (visited relatives up there before headed out to CO)<br><IMG SRC="http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs168.snc1/6292_579932214437_40600283_34189957_1182771_n.jpg" BORDER="0"><br><IMG SRC="http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs168.snc1/6292_579932229407_40600283_34189960_2010450_n.jpg" BORDER="0"><p>Duluth, Minnesota - One of the ships-turned-tourist attraction<br><IMG SRC="http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs168.snc1/6292_579932234397_40600283_34189961_5735343_n.jpg" BORDER="0"><p>Corn Palace, SD...'cause I REALLY needed to wallk around<br><IMG SRC="http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs188.snc1/6292_579932249367_40600283_34189964_110301_s.jpg" BORDER="0"><p>And a couple from the Badlands...<br><IMG SRC="http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs168.snc1/6292_579932344177_40600283_34189982_1800400_n.jpg" BORDER="0"><br><IMG SRC="http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs168.snc1/6292_579932374117_40600283_34189988_5232012_n.jpg" BORDER="0"><p>The Carnage!!!<br><IMG SRC="http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs168.snc1/6292_579932493877_40600283_34190011_6737359_n.jpg" BORDER="0"><br><IMG SRC="http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs168.snc1/6292_579932498867_40600283_34190012_1822003_n.jpg" BORDER="0">

Re: Wisconsin - Colorado 56K beware (S60R1)

If anyone is ever curious about things getting sucked into the airbox via the 'R' Kelly intake... YES it does suck.<p>haha<p>Pulled the airbox at the hotel and had to empty out the bugs!

Great pictures. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0"> I love the Swedish fender stripes. I think I need to trade in my black ones in for the Yellow and Blue.

Caught a couple of stretches on I-90, where I let the car get down. Stage 2 isn't governed is it?<p>Been enjoying sport and advanced on the highways as well. Couldn't do that in KY or WI!<p>I'll be cruising down I-25 (goes thru Denver right?) sometime tomorrow.<p>Cheers!

Re: (05BruzaS60r)

It'll be just over 83K when I complete the trip. My R is pretty rough on the outside, to be honest. Seen a few hard winters outdoors (single soldier = no garage), some irresponsible drivers, among just normal stuff. When it's clean it doesn't look too bad, but I KNOW its there. <p>Traveled south through Wyoming today, and I must say they have some pretty nice roads. It's so great to set the cruise on 80 and just let the caR work the sweeping bends. And traffic is next to none <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif" BORDER="0"><p><br>

Re: (Rues R)

I thought the bugs were bad here in PA! My wife's family is from the Mitchell area. She says SD makes the bugs like its farm boys -- big and dumb! <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/tongue.gif" BORDER="0"><p>I-25 runs right down the Front Range through Denver and Colorado Springs. Try to avoid it during the rush hour -- in both cities! <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/zeroforum_graphics/screwy.gif" BORDER="0"> <p>And make sure that you post pictures of the mountains. Those of us who have live there need the fix! <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/frown.gif" BORDER="0"> <p>Enjoy the beauty of the Mile High State! <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0">
