I am looking at installing 16" winter tires with plain steel rims on my 2006 S60 2.5T AWD. The car has 235/45R17 all-seasons for summer, the equivalent 16" in overall diameter is 215/55R16. The stock tire size that would come on the car if ordered with 16" is 205/55R16 which is a smaller diameter than the 17".

Does anyone know if they make compensations in the speed calculations based on the original wheel size the car is stocked with?

Thanks for any assistance,
Barry

That's the same size I use in Dunlop WinterSport 3D on my 16" Orbits for my 2002 S60 AWD. There will be a very small change in actual MPH but it's negligible, don't worry about it.
