So only a couple weeks after installing my new, freshly painted CFW FRP winglets, my wife and I swap cars so I can replace the brakes on hers after work. So I get a call this morning and she is very sorry but she pulled too far forward into the parking space at work and cracked one of them. So I forgave her, but wasn't quite sure what to expect when I got home. I was thinking maybe a hairline crack that I could probably repair with some fiberglass putty with a backing and then repaint. I was just finishing up the brakes on her car when she pulled in the driveway. At first I was like, "Wow, I don't really see anything." Then I looked closer and saw this:

Yes, it's cracked all the way through and you can easily wiggle it around with light hand pressure. I think it might be held on just by paint now! The passenger side one is scuffed up pretty good, but still intact. So now I begin my quest to find one winglet (or a really good deal on 2)...

And perhaps another secondary driver on your insurance policy?
Kidding, g/l!

Looks like it could be brought back to life...Unlike those bugs on the bumper. A good body shop guy is like a chemist, an artist, and a miracle worker all in one. It might end up being a wash cost-wise.

Re: (SHOlover)

I'm not inexperienced in fiberglass repairs and minor bodywork, and the pics really don't show the damage 'cause the paint has held in there fairly well so far. This thing is pretty much cracked into two pieces. I might be able to salvage it, but not sure how strong it will be. Maybe I'm still just a little
and don't want to deal with it

Re: (rotorwash)

Got the winglets removed and the damage is worse than expected. But I will try and begin a repair this weekend and see if I can get it back the way it needs to be. I'll post some pics of the repair process. Here's some updated pics (BEFORE):

I have a set of brand new CFW FRP winglets that I ended up not using because insurance replaced my damaged one. They are sitting in a box with all the included hardware from CFW.
You can have them for $180 + shipping.
PM me if interested.
