I know the rear windows are not supposed to go down all the way...

But the front windows too!?!?!

I never inspected it at the dealer, but the driver & passenger front windows do not go down all the way. I can see about 1/4"-1/2" of window remaining right above the door locks.

Is this the norm? Or should the fronts roll down all the way?

Front windows? I am not aware of any model doing that; they are supposed to go all the way down...Better check it out.

My front windows do disappear down into the door for the most part, but the rear part (six to eight inches) remains visible.

I can think of one reason why this might be so. Perhaps the window "lowering system" (probably an "X" shaped scissor-jack mechanism?) simply can't go lower than that. The vertical height of the glass probably exceeds the vertical height of the room available in the door, because window PLUS lowering/raising mechanism needs to reside within the door, right? I dunno.

I must admit that I like the fact that it doesn't go down all the way. That way I don't smash the rubber-n-felt trim that's there with my elbow/underarm as I reach out to get the mail from the mailbox, pay the person at the drive-through window, and so forth. I'd hate to have that rubbery trim piece get "fatigued", because for the time being, it squeegees the window nicely when there is dew or light frost! Just my two cents...

I just thought it was odd, because I've never been in a car that had front windows that did not totally recess into the door. Maybe I'm just sheltered...

Also the leather covering on my rear right head rest is already coming off! I haven't even gotten my plates yet and the car is falling apart! Not good.

Bummer about your rear head-rest! Hey, don't forget to check your fluids. I did it on day one, and had two "problems". My oil was high, and I mean way high...like maybe a quarter inch above the high mark on the dipstick. I thought "Hmmm...I guess it's supposed to be like that, maybe so I can "safely" burn off a quart or two over the first few thousand miles."

But it was still high at 800 miles, and at 1500, and yesterday at 2000...but it's lowering down toward the "high" mark, yet still above it.

Also, check your P/S fluid. Mine was way low...was at the "add" mark or below. I thought it was odd, but maybe a fluke. Nope. Same all along, and is till down there at "add". Grrr... Am going to call the dealership now that I've got a few things to get looked at (see my trunk interference fit post elsewhere in this S60 forum).

Also, my left rear door holds water. The seal doesn't seal properly (or so I believe), and lets rain in. It doesn't squeegee the window like the other three doors do. It holds about 4 to 6 ounces of water in there, then I open the door and swooosh, out somes water from those two holes, and lots of it. I check all 3 of the other doors...none. This has been happening for the two months I've had it. Gonna have 'em look at that, too. Just some tips...hopefully you have none of these issues! Aside from these, I love it to death and have had no other problems.
