Does anyone know where I could source a pair of front door window channel seals for my '81 242? They are a bit dried out and shrinking and let some wind noise in the car that drives me crazy. Volvo does not list them any longer and I need a set.
Thanks!
You mean these scrapers for the base of the window?
RSI: http://yhst-26451710505916.sto....html
IPD: http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-20...-4090/
Or the fuzzy felt on the rails of the window channel? You should be able to find a source for that at a restoration or hot-rod shop, its pretty generic.
I have a set of the RSI scrapers on my 242 and I love them. I have another set for the Bertone when I get around to removing the trim to paint it.
Nope, thanks! I got those and they made a huge difference between the dry cracked one pinching your arm or the new soft one being nice and comfy.
I actually need the window surround channel that the window slides up and down and seals in. I have tried to fit an aftermarket (by the foot) piece in there and it was a bit too thick.
I've just gone to a junk yard ( u pull and pay ) and took some out of a newer 240, and got more than I needed so I can cut to fit then superglue them together, there are plenty of decent condition pieces at these yards for the four door models, but there is rarely a two door, so if you find a two door you can get them, but if not, then you will have to improvise.
