Is this something new or just the S80 with Euro-spec bits? Can't tell which market its aimed at...

"Volvo Cars is introducing a sports chassis that is a more dynamic alternative for the refreshed Volvo S80...

The car has been lowered 20 millimetres at the front and 15 millimetres at the rear. The springs are shorter and firmer. The shock absorbers have greater damping ability, on both compression and extension strokes. All the mountings on the sub-frame have harder bushings. The anti-roll bars have also been made firmer to give increased side stability in curves. This results in crisp steering feel and good control, particularly in more active driving. This is further aided by the steering gear which has been tailored to provide quicker response and increased feel, giving more direct contact with the tyres and road surface."

Max noted an XC60 R Design in the pipeline. The XC90 R Design took place of the XC90 Sport, which DOES have a lowered suspension and sportier springs / sways (don't remember which) so don't rule it out.

Yes I saved the photo, which shade of red was that? Hopefully it will be more than just cosmetics.

If you order/OSD an R-Design today (w/ some other model) can you delete those R-Design badges? That's the worst design element of R-Design.

Let's not forget that we're talking abut a vehicle that weighs 4200 lbs.

So the use of the term "sport" must be taken with a grain of salt...

... or, perhaps, a handful.

A BIG handful.

Yeah, the exterior badges can be removed.

As for the interior trim, on the C30/S40/V50/XC90 the R-Design is embossed into the leather on both front seats but it is pretty faint. Not that noticeable.

How about the steering wheel? I've seen photos of them w/ the R-Design thingy, but other "sport" steering wheels without it.

Better without it.
