Will this Mercedes USB adapter work with Volvo dice/vida?

I say try it.

After working in Volvo dealers (as a technician) many years, I now work at a Ford dealership and have the Ford version of DICE (called VCM II) and my own laptop with the Ford scan tool on it and VIDA on it as well.

I am able to communicate with my car (Volvo S40) using VIDA through the Ford VCM II communication device connected to my car. As a side note that may or may not be pertinent, my Ford VCM II is the real deal that I paid $900 to purchase it.
