It's only 1 year apart. Did Volvo change the seat configurations? Is it just a bolt in? <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/confused.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/eek.gif" BORDER="0">

Bolt in, yes. But, the passenger side power seat will not work if so equipped.<p>These are S70 T5 SE seats in my friends 96 850.<br> <IMG SRC="http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/43/l_4f5b53b2ae7747749b00542b96c71cfe.jpg" BORDER="0">

You can make the passenger side power seat work, but I believe it's quite a lot of effort.

Yea that's exactly what I was thinking of...of course you'll always have a warm bottom ;-) Or does the switch not have to be on to operate the seat in that case?

Bumping up this old thread.

I have a chance to buy '99 V70 R front seats. Both are electric with memory, both are heated.
Our '97 850 has heated memory seats. Would these be a direct swap? Or am I looking at a mess with wiring, different tracks, etc.?

Same issues as above, but you will also lose the side airbag. They went to an electronically fired side airbag in 99, which is waaaaaaaay too much work to figure out how to make it work in a 98 or lower year, if it's even possible.

If you're looking at the $400 99 VR fronts in the classified section right now, F that. That dude is smoking crack. I bought 98 V70R fronts and rears for $200 picked up.
