The biturbo inline-6 will barely fit in the S80 as it is, in the transverse direction. Volvo had to create the worlds shortest 4-speed automatic transmission for the S80. I highly doubt that the biturbo inline-6 will fit in the S60 or new V70 in the tranverse direction at least. Plus, the S60 and new V70 use a longer 5-speed transmission. The T6 engine has already been put into an S40, but in the longitudinal direction, not in the transverse direction. I hope this helps!
Yes, someone has done it! They put a Volvo S80 T6 B6284T engine into a 1997 Volvo S40! They changed the position of the engine and turned it into a RWD car with a 5-speed. This car supposedly makes 476.1 hp and 449.9 lb.ft of torque. Pretty amazing, because it only weighs 2,535 lbs!

-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 02-08-2001).]
