When I got my subwoofer and bluetooth kits installed, both had software updates loaded so the car knows they are there, and adds them to the sound menus, etc.

If I do an ECU upgrade, will it cancel out the subwoofer and bluetooth software or does it only change settings that apply to the engine?

Just don't want to have to go back to the dealer after the ECU upgrade to have the subwoofer and bluetooth software loaded back on, and then have that clear the program for the engine...

thoughts?

Re: (Crashy)

The ECU upgrade only changes the ECU software. It dose not alter any other systems in the car. This is the way that BSR's ECU upgrades work. I cant say if it's the same with other ECU upgrades.

I wonder what the "Bluetooth" update does (?)

I put the Volvo kit in myself and it seems to do everything it's supposed to without any update. I don't recall the instructions saying anything about a flash.

I think you have to tell the computer you have Bluetooth so that it can pass along the 'Mute' instruction to the Audio system when a call comes in.

the bluetooth update may just be hardware. I looked back on the work sheet from the dealer and it does not say anything about a software update (my bad)

The subwoofer did require a software update, and it is noted on the dealer work sheet. You notice this update as the subwoofer now appears on the sound menu, along with treble, bass, balance, etc (where it was not listed before)
