Yes, but you need spacers and longer studs, or wheel adapters. Here are a few sources for wheel adapters (spacers with studs pressed in to them so that you can keep your current studs):
www.wheeladapters.com
www.nascarplace.com/hrspacers
www.techstile.net

I think I'll just get some 240 Turbo wheels. I have always liked those wheels

George,
How goes the decision to buy a 245T?

Michael,
I finally got those spacers and wheels on!!! That proves you what you can accomplish in the boring afternoon of 4th of July.
Those turbo wheels from the 850 looks very nice on my ride. Actually after cutting the studs, it was very easy to get those studs out with a socket wrench. For some reason, tho....there's some weird vibration from the steering wheel when driving above 45 mph. Could it be that I just need to get those tires balanced or maybe crappy Futura tires don't do well in the rain?
Since it was raining kinda hard, couldn't tell if there was a dramatic improvement..but overall problem-free. Maybe if the weather allows, I'll take some pictures of the car this weekend.
Puahahaa..next time when the FWD guys meet with us again, will be the time they need to pay some respect for us RWD Volvo guys~!
(hehe..I always wanted to say that, now I'm a proud RWD Volvo owner)

Hey Kai, I got some respect from those guys didn't I? I'm Rob, who was in the tan/light blue 244 with the Titans, etc. Haha. Now my full suspension is in my soon to be new car, an 81 262C. Have to get it registered, etc. but should be soon. It looks awesome lowered and with the chopped roof.
Rob

Rob, hehee...u sure did. At least respect from me! Man, that's some ride you have there. I thought you told me it's completely stock......hehee..not after I visited your site~!
Anyway, thanks for the advice, I'll give that a try this weekend when I get a chance. When you get your new ride ready, remember to give us a holler, I really want to see that car.
If you finally see my C70 around the town (i hang out around Bethesda area pretty often, too), don't be a stranger. I know, i know..not exactly the best handling Volvo, but still something worthwhile checking out.

Kai, if you saw the site on the blue 2 door, that's a different car...this car has very slight engine mods, but a bunch of suspension. Springs, struts, sway bars, strut tower bar, and of course the wheels and tires. The 262 has my suspension now, still working on getting the paperwork sorted out so I can drive it. I think I'll be in it this weekend though, as my 244 with the 262 suspension is unsafe to drive, let alone the 1 headlight!
What color is your C70? I am surprised I haven't seen you before. If you do see the 262 give a honk, I don't think I've seen another one on the road in a while.
Rob

GrooveSG - We've pretty much decided to do it. The only main problem is finding one. I think I may have a wholesaler friend just keep an eye open at auction. I can't find any wagons, though I did find a nice '84 GL non turbo automatic on ebay for $500 silver/black leather. It's gone now, but it seemed like a nice car. I've got a few more mods I am going to do to the 850R then I fear we may sell it because the payments are higher than I'd like. In other words, I have a few months before I need to purchase the car, so I'm waiting for the right one....'86 or '87 intercooled 245T...good color combo (wife won't let me do black) and little to no rust....yeah right!
VolvoRules - nice meeting you last weekend. I can't wait to see the new coupe either. That should be pretty darn badass. You'll at least have to post pics.
Kai - good luck with your C70 man, and hey, post pics of the 240 if you get the chance.

Rob,
Yeah..if you get the car ready this weekend, maybe we can meet up again or something. I'm pretty sure I'll be around the area for some Sat. brunch. Gosh...so, the 240 I saw you in last time really only have few engine mods, huh? That was some pretty impressive driving the other day. My C70 is silver, and it only has its time around this area for one week before it was taken to EIP.
George,
I’ll definitely do that…maybe this weekend if I can manage to snatch a digital camera from the office.
If you want something newer, it's either going to be non-turbo, or you'll have to get a 740/760/940 turbo. The 940T and 760T were both only available with an automatic transmission. A 740T came with a manual up until 1991. The manual trans is the M46 4spd+OD, same as the 240 up through '86. I believe the ones used on the 700 series had an aluminum case instead of steel, but I'm not certain about that.

Hey Kai, I am busy on Saturday, but Sunday am free...lemme know if you wanna meet up somewhere and just hang out. You can email me at [email protected]
George, it was nice to meet you too. I will get some pics of the 262 as soon as I can...gotta do a bunch more stuff like remove all the badges, and put the later style bumpers on it, but that can be stuff later down the road...I need to start driving it ASAP! This one headlight thing is getting annoying...
Rob
