I Like going to shows and track days and am an attention *****. I like being the only and having the fastest [of what ever car it is at the time] around.
i kow that from a "car" standpoint that I am going to be so far upsidown in this car financially.... but it is more than just my transportation. My othercars are either stock or under 1000 dollars in mods so that I can sell them in a year from purchase.
The R i so much more. It is something I have built and grin for ear to ear everytime I drive it.

No just wanted to know if the mods that one purchased and put on their car was what they expected, and why they thought they needed the mod they selected.

Quote, originally posted by R_Rated »

I Like going to shows and track days and am an attention *****. Re: WHY MODIFIY (needsdecaf)

Well my list of mods are modest compared to most but I have seen substantial gains. Here are my "performance mods".
Window Tint - 15hp gain
Silverstar Fogs - 5hp gain
Blue Interior Lights - 5hp gain
Evolve Sticker - 20hp gain
VP Tuning Wheel Spacers - 10hp gain
As you can see I am well over 350hp now. I was going to go with darker tint for more HP but decided the bang for the buck wasn't quite there and I was scared the transmission wouldn't accept the torque increase. As you can see, the Evolve sticker provided the biggest gain so far.

Re: WHY MODIFIY (cloaked)

I modded because I could. The exhaust tone is really good with the SvR/TME set up and the suspension is night and day with the IPD/TME spring combo!!! I like doing what I can while keeping a stock look.
It's just somethign to do for me really. I really enjoy working on my car and have installed every mod, with the exception of springs because of cal, thus far. Brakes and what ever check are more than the dealer will ever do.
Kevin

Why modify?
Why do some people have monogrammed shirts?
Why do some people dress in a "flashy" manner?
Why do some people have vanity plates?
Why do kids write their name in wet cement (or snow, even)?
Why do people get expensive haircuts, when a bowl and scissors would do basically the same thing?
Why do people buy Rolex watches when a Timex keeps better time?
Why wash your car? It'll just get dirty again.

Why do some people take apart perfectly good alarm clocks?
What makes people think they need more than 50 bhp, anyway?
Why do some students enjoy science projects even though that experiment has been run over and over by generations of students?
Why do kids race their bicycles against each other, even though they're going a measly 15 MPH?
Why do some kids build model airplanes even though you can buy a fully-assembled one that looks a lot better?
Why do people enjoy auto racing? What is accomplished there, anyway?
Why would someone build a homebuilt airplane when you could buy dozens of tickets on Southwest for the same price?
Why drive at all when public transporation is more "responsible"?
I dunno. Something to do, I guess.

Re: WHY MODIFIY (cloaked)

To answer your question, I did the Evolve ECU and exhaust. plus swapped the factory wheels for 18" Falken koblenz rims.
The driveability and speed of the stock R wasn't enough for me, and the factory exhaust was too wimpy for a car like that.
Very happy w/ the mods.
Stock wheels too soft on potholes, Falkens look nicer.
If I were going to keep the car, I would do sway bars on it, car rolls too much on turns for my liking.

To clarify, my wheels are Falken, I installed some PS2's to replace the PZero's.
To me, the R is not a great track car. To heavy and understeers too much.
Plus, the tires are too narrow.
