I am in need of a better than average service manual for my 1990 744. I am a novice and need one with good written description. Pictures are ok too.
Today I went to AutoZone and O'Reilly to inquire about a service book. AutoZone couldn't order one for the 1990 740. O'Reilly has the Chilton book.
I am querying the community about what their humble opinion is. What books have you liked most and least, and why.
Thanks a lot. Look forward to hearing from someone soon.
-Poritz

Re: Who makes the best 1990 Volvo 740 Service Manual? (Poritz)

Well the people at Brickboard are not quite fond of Chiltons. I will flip through it and probably order the haynes.
I have heard some talk about the green books. How do I get one? Are they any good?
-Poritz

The Haynes book for the 850 is pretty good.

Well I bought the Chilton's book and I will see how far that takes me. At the moment I do not have very big ideas for work so I think that the book will satisfy my needs for now.
-Poritz
PS here is the cover of the only book I could find.
