Hey everybody,
A very strange loud chirping/whistling noise is coming from the rear of my engine bay when my car is fully warmed at idle. It only happens sometimes and particularly after driving the car a little rougher than normal or driving at high speeds. When I hit the throttle even a minute amount the noise stops. It sounds like it's coming from the near the turbo but I'm not exactly sure. Sorry I can't get a video up, but every time I try the noise stops... My hypothesis is that air is escaping from somewhere near the turbo and that as soon as the throttle is hit the air moves towards the spool. The car has a new timing belt and pulleys and new oil seals around the turbo so I know it's neither of those.
What does everyone think?

Re: Whistling//Chirping noise from near turbo (Sven77)

your CBV is going south. It will sound like angry chipmunks whenever you let off the throttle. that sound (compressor surge) is very bad for the health of your engine. -Get it fixed soon.
