Trying to replace crankshaft sensor, I can't find it for the life of me. Here's what I'm looking at:

Right under the routing for the intake tubing to the turbo.
It's smack between the engine block and transmission. Just look where the tranny and engine meet. There is a plastic bracket. The sensor sits right there, has a small 2 wire plug sticking out of it

No hose removal required. Looking straight down you should be able to see it (it's really low in there) just undo the 1 (8mm I think) bolt holding it to the bracket and swap.

Do not try to remove the bracket! The bolt is covered by the transmission on the back side and is useless to attempt.
Just one bolt and you're done.

Also, just to clarify I do assume you mean "rpm" or "flywheel" sensor. People get crank sensor and rpm sensor terminology messed up. You are trying to replace the sensor that calculates engine RPM by reading the flywheel yes?
If so carry on.

It's between the block and tranny, right on too of the tranny. Pretty hard to miss as there's only one sensor between the entire bellhousing and the block.

it's basically directly below the cam sensor and maybe 1-1.5 inches towards the back right?

Just use a thin long extension and go for it directly from above. It'd really not all that difficult.
2 minute job
