I think that's the overflow for the wiper fluid no?

I think yours fell down. On top or the backside of the windshield fluid cap, there should be clip for it to attach too. It's an overflow hose.

If you're talking about the hose off the silver thing, that's a vacuum line for your brake booster.

I can't really tell from the pic, is the hose connected to the washer fluid reservoir, if so it's just a dump/overflow hose.

OK but why does my cap have a hole in the middle?
My cap also has a hole in it. I's purpose is to allow air to enter above the washer fluid as it gets pumped out.
If there was no hole the pump wouldn't be able to work.

Tomorrow I'll go out and try to see where the other end of the hose is hooked up.

Yes hole is just for airflow, the hose is the overflow.

Like mentioned before, the hose is connected to the washer fluid tank. It's an overflow. So if you overfill it, it starts coming out of that hose attached to the back of the filler neck.

And the hose is supported by a clip on the back of the filler neck.

This cap has a larger hole than for a vent and the hole has prongs like it receives something. Anything to do with headlight washers?
