Where do you get your parts/service in GTA?

1743 Views 11 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Turbos60
I just recently purchased my first volvo (05 V50 2.4i) and wanted to know if anyone else in the GTA had recommendations on where to get volvo parts for reasonable prices?

I called volvo villa in thornhill to ask about prices and they seem kind of high ($33 for air filter, $19 for oil filter + $1.48 for crush washer, etc). Are there any sources other than the dealership for these type of items? I'm not looking for high end performance parts or anything, just the regular stock or similar things.

I searched the forum and there was a thread in 2004 on this topic but no answers then, hopefully someone's found a good local source since then?

ebay.com, myswedishparts.com, and bostonvolvo.com
Or get friendly witht he local parts manager and see if he'll give you 20% off.

Or join the Canadian Volvo club. They get discounts at dealers.

I usually order from http://www.fcpgroton.com/index-exec/, shipping is reasonable and fast(even into Ontario), or try http://www.ipdusa.com/, but shipping seems pricey. Then again, I'm buying parts for a 23 year old 240, I don't know what they have for new cars.

Cheers,
Matt

ps I just remembered these guys in Oakville http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/...e.php

Thanks for the replies,

So it looks like most of the sources are online places from the US? I had a look at their shipping info and the shipping and brokerage fees seem to kill any advantage over just going to a dealership unfortunately.

Although if we could get a list of participating dealers for the Canadian Volvo club, that would be an excellent reason to join up. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Frank from Eurosporttuning in Oakville.
He beats the dealer price everytime and I save some coin on shipping http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

I've recently purchased an '06 S40 and have been searching as well. Picked up my first car item last night from Frank and EuroSportTuning.

Saving on shipping is nice.
FCP and IPD have prepaid duties/brokerage fees which is good and it usualy takes less than a week to receive which is awesome. but i noticed that IPD's shipping costs when up a bit.

Doesn't driving to Frank's and back cost more in gas than the shipping?

Not if you factor in the duties/brokerage fees in addition to the actual shipping costs
