Previously I was gripping about a high pitched whining noise,,,took the car to Herb Gordon in MD. Apparently following accident in March 2008 the body shop injstalled the headlight wiper motor upside down. Of courswe Nationwide so cheap instead of having Herb Gordon repair I had to take it back to original body shop,,,still waiting to hear from them.

Meanwhile the day after Herb Gordon the engine light comes on as well as digital message...check engine etc. Vehicle still drives but has lost a lot of power. Had it on freeway this AM at 4:30 in 6th gear foot to the floor and it was only doing 70 mph. Car only has 30k (though driver side wheel well
was struck hard by driver doing about 45 mph a year ago March. No repairs were made to turbo...I wonder.. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like the ECU is in limp mode after detecting something was wrong would be my guess.

I 2nd that. The way to tell is easy enough. If the car is okay later on, with no CEL, then it picked something up and "shut you down" so you don't hurt the car (or yourself). I've had this happen and it does feel like you've lost all power. It usually rides a bit firmer to, putting itself into psuedo-Sport mode with the suspension.

Unfortunately, if the CEL is off later, I don't think Volvo can pull any codes from it.

Just go to advanced auto or similar and get the code read, that will give you a much better idea as to what's going on and won't cost a dime.

tcv was traped under the air box, heses were off the tbody hose and the MAF senso conector is broken, oyea to start this is what im finding
oo yea and wiper motor blown

The check engine light is on, it's making awful noise, and you go and floor it on 6th gear?

noise is a failed wiper moter so flooring it DOESNT MAKE A DAMN DIFFERNCE to head lamp wiper motor

Its all my fault...instead of using common sense and having the car towed to Volvo dealer after it was run into I called Nationwide (not sure of my rights) and they sent me to "Blue Ribbon" shop...ultimately it ended up at Annapolis Volvo but I would bet they just did what they were told hadn't or could not have been done. Problem was I was in a daze both physically and emotionally,,,had just been tossed around and hit my head and I could not believe what had just happened...it was like I was on drugs. I did the cautious thing and still got burned.

Unfortunately with the Carfax report it is "Volvo for Life" that is "my vVolvo for life"...at least I know a place where there really is someone who knows what he is doing (of course that is because I read it on Swedespeed. I still think that once Nationwide was aware the car was being "subed out" to a Volvo shop they should have totaled it and saved themselves $15000.

hay its all good. but yea mile one herb gordon volvo has a GOOOD body shop and i know a EXTREMLY!!! good body shop. there 2 my good friends and they kick asss!!! 60% there day they OLNY restor vetts. but yea i figeing it alll out for you
