Not sure where you will find one in or near Istanbul, but the manufacturer is Metra. Do you have an '04 or an '05+ R? I have seen the kit for an '04 as pictured, but I believe they also make one for the newer style dash. Try searching online for one.
Hope that helps.
- Tryg

See the third post of this thread (page two)...
http://forums.swedespeed.com/z...age=2
This takes care of the '04 model and the price is far better than the aftermarket Metra kits I have seen. $30 is roughly half the cost for a Metra panel - great price. It also sounds like there are no issues with color matching either if you go through the dealer. Use P/N #8684591 to see if your Volvo dealer can order it for you.
Xeno, is this where you found the picture?
- Tryg

Xeno,
I am concerned that the part you are ordering is for the 2004 dash and not the 2005 dash with the aluminum surround. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it is indeed the right part for your 2005.
Please post pictures of your stereo install when you are done. I plan to swap out the head unit for an after-market navi/HD unit in the near future.
- Tryg

2005+ R 2DIN adapter

The red arrow below indicates the part needed for the double din adapter for 2004-2007 V/S R. It seems as though there was some confusion as to whether this part would work for 2005+ R's. It does. The aluminum trim surround doesn't affect fitment according to John. I just ordered one! First step to a much anticipated upgrade!

Just wanted to clear this up for anyone 2005+ wanting a 2DIN stereo. Color match is perfect too BTW. I'll confirm this when the part arrives next week.

Re: 2005+ R 2DIN adapter (Capital R)

The 2004 adapter plate is different from the 2005+ one. Here's hoping you ordered the later one.
What head unit did you go with?
- Tryg
Re: 2005+ R 2DIN adapter (RainyS60R)

Haven't gone with one yet...Any recommendations? I'm looking awfully hard at the AVIC-Z2. Pretty spendy, but compared with the factory nav it's a bargain! I chose not to order the nav so I would have some flexibility.
Don't you have a 2DIN in your car? I'd love to see some pics! [email protected]
~Syd

Re: 2005+ R 2DIN adapter (Capital R)

No, at least not yet, but I am definitely considering it. The AVIC-Z2 is sweet. Frank Hoffy has this system in his R and is very pleased with it. I've toyed with the idea of saving a ton of money and going with the ~$900 D3, which has a smaller screen and a DVD-based navigation system. I don't like the idea of map discs that need to be inserted and ejected all the time whenever I want to play a CD or DVD in the head unit. The more expensive systems like the Z2 are hard drive based. Kenwood and Clarion also have nice, well integrated HD systems at much lower prices.
Let me know what you decide. If you are going to be at the IPD garage sale later this month, perhaps I could take a peek.
- Tryg
