I meant no disrespect by my post. Just making a statement that Volvo should step their game up with the new R.
Who knows maybe the new R will have a V8 maybe it wont. But i think the sensitivity level here should be adjusted. This is a open discussion forum.

I also have a v8 XC90, superb engine I must say. Did very well in a blizzard as well. The only thing the XC90 would benefit from which it does not have is a good air suspension like the Land Rovers.
854T5 my comment about your comment was that your comment brings nothing whatsoever to the discussion. Except leading to my comment which again brings nothing to the conversaiton. And no, I am not sensitive or unhappy with my LEASE. I have had many many cars, some fancy some not and I am quite enjoying my R.

I'm hoping for a 395 hp 340lb of torque 3.5 litre TT I6 unit with a rear biased AWD although the V8 wouldn't be bad either I wonder what would weigh more though???

The main point of my original post that was even if the S80 V8 is faster than the S60R, they're not going to be cross shopped. Same as saying a Lexus LS460 is faster than a GS350.

Re: (zigger)

If we're talking automatic vs. automatic my money is on the S80 V8. It may be close 0-60 but eventually the V8 is going to out run the 2.5 liter turbo setup. I have both and dream of the V8 (preferrably blown) in a future R.

Quote, originally posted by zigger »

I don't think the S80 V8 would be able to take the R. Its heavier and has 8 Hp more..
