Hi,

My T6, just passed 100k. When should I look into changing the timing belt? Has anyone else done theirs yet? I am not a mechanic, but I did it on my XC90 2.5T and was not that bad...hoping I will be able to do it on this one also.

It's 10 year or 150k miles. So... I guess 240k km

How hard of a job on the 2018 T6 compared to my 2006 XC90 2.5T?

I imagine the process is similar to this video from FCP Euro:

They did it on a P3 T5 (2.0L turbo), but it sounds like the process is mostly the same with the T6 in those cars too. I imagine everything on the engine is basically the same just the body parts and accessing the belt will be different on our cars.

FCP Euro sells the CTA version but it's about twice as much as the iPd one.

Mine is almost due as well... S90 T6.

Still don't have the courage to do it on my own given the sensitivity of the job and the tool required.

Any single mistake will definitely ruin the engine...

Will wait for someone to share a DIY for this job. We can share the cost of the tool as well.
