I would like to stick to the stock 235 size tires that my volvo came with and i have 235 winter tires on the car right now but they rub really bad. Ive been reading around and from what i can tell, all i will need is 5mm wheel spacers in the front to make the 235 rub free. I am ordering some Goodyear Eagle GT's when i get a chance since i think its one of the best tires you can get for $111 shipped to my house so as soon as i figure out this spacer situation i want to order them. I just have two questions. One is, can i order a generic 5mm spacer to do the job off of ebay, ive seen cheap ones like $20 shipped for the set, but they are only made of cast alluminum. And two, would it be better to put them on the F&R or does it not matter if i only throw them on the front. If i have to spend too much on spacers ill just get 225's and then there wont be rubbing but if i can get away with it, i would rather have 235's for the added traction..
Thanks, Ryan

Re: Wheel Spacers needed? (swedeman)

I wouldnt cheap out on something that goes between the wheel and the car; think about it.
With that said, I havent really noticed a difference in traction between 235 and 225. You do get better turning radius though

ya, ha and a little better turning definitely goes a long way with this car. About how much would a good set go for, and what type of material should i be looking at for the spacer to be made of?

Check the Swedespeed classifieds sometmes you can find them used there if not VIVA performance!
I would go 5mm to clear rubbing I run 10 front 15 rear but 5 will do.

I too am thinking about these spacers. Does anyone have them? Does your car chew up suspension components?

Re: Wheel Spacers needed? (Paysts)

with the tires i have on there now i will need wheel spacers. From what i have read as long as you get hub centric wheel spacers you should be fine.
