The winter here is well under way with no end in sight, so naturally I am shopping around for some new summertime shoes...

I'm running my stock 16s with Blizzaks right now, but want something a little bit more slick for the nicer months. Given the terrible roads around here, I think 17s would be the biggest I can go and still keep all my teeth in my head on the Alaskan back roads.

I've been shopping around quite a bit and really like Medusas, but they seem to be real pricey. I've always thought the VW Detroit GTI rims were pretty swanky and might look dope under my 2000R. However, they have a bolt pattern of 5x112 and a center bore of 57.1. If I wanted these to fit, should I/can I just get adapters? Can I make it work with wobble bolts if I have the center bored out to the appropriate 65.1mm (friend runs a machine shop)? Is it entirely too blasphemous to put VW rims on a Volvo?
