I enjoy the rarity (among many other things). I never saw one until I bought mine. If I see a Volvo around here its a s60 or xc70. I got sick of seeing the same cars over and over. One day I counted dodge caravans and in 5 miles of a 2 lane highway there was 23...it a fun game you should try.

The stock sound over 4k revs
The reliability that I've experienced
The way the seats hug you
The grip of the R-design wheel (though my car lacks this, right now)

its not that powerful but while cruising its good enough (stock tune)
Rarity - Mitsubishi lancer is a copy from this car, have always thought about this....so yeah the volvo s40 is rare
Waterfall- sometimes i play around like it was a tablet lol
I5 Engine - The exhaust and engine sound from this car is rare and awesome
The surprise sometimes that it is a volvo and it is turbo lol......
Decent fuel economy, even though im not having the best one with my car... (mostly city miles)
Nimble feeling


i really like the looks cause i think volvo took the design of the bentley continental and made it more volvoish and obviously cheaper since is a volvo entry class car...

I'm surprised you guys like the waterfall so much. If there's one thing I HATE most on my mom's c70 and friend's s40 I would say it's the waterfall.

I agree about the automatic windows but my other favorite is the one touch-three blink turn signals!

In most European countries you are obliged by the law to make at least 3 blink turning signals so the electronics in Volvo has been cleverly setup to help you with that.

Yep! I love the triple blink for changing lanes. Though, it is annoying when you accidentally tap it and the person behind you thinks you're retarded.

I like the waterfall because of it's uniqueness. It's honestly the party piece at car meets.

Hate:
No trunk release aside from the key fob
Expensive and somewhat limited tuning options


Edit: WTF!? How do you get the windows to roll down with the key!? That was one of the best features on my last GTI, and they went up and down with the key.

When I sit in my wife's car, it's almost painful to watch how slow her windows go up.

If you want iPod or iPhone integration, get a Parrot.

just press and hold the unlock button for about 5 seconds

The trunk still releases if it's unlock and you pull the little handle. It would be nice to have it completely pop open upon demand though.

04.5 and some 05s have the windows feature with the keyfob
