Is it right that the temp gauge goes to half way in only a km or two? I can't believe that the car is warmed up already. The most fuel I have ever put in at once is 45 litres, and this when according to the gauge, it was almost empty. The tank holds 65 litres. So I can only go 420 kms before filling, but where is the other 20 litres? My idle according to the rpm gauge reads about 1100-1200 at idle, even when properly warmed up. Yet, when I stop at a light, the engine sounds like it will almost die, like it stutters, then is fine when siting at the light with my foot on the brake.
I think maybe the flap in my airbox isn't working properly, if it isn't can it contribute to bad fuel economy and a loss of power if it is constantly getting warm engine air? Thanks.

defently werid. the temp is fine as long as it dont go into the red.you could try going to the local "nick-a-part" and find another istrument panel, and see if it makes a differnce. the air flap should't make a hole lot of differnce, but you can inspect pretty easily. the only other thing you can do is...go by feel. turn up the idel, inspect how hot she is, carry a jerry can of fuel, run her till runs out of fuel and record how many miles youv done. then do everything by instinkt.
