Im looking at putting wheel spacer on my 05 s60r gt. I run 235/40/r18 in the summer and the winter run blizzak 225/45/17.

Im tired of hearing the rubbing for the inner well when turning tight so Im look at getting spacers

Right now I'm using stock spring and thinking about lower it with ipd spring. If i lower it will spacer be a good idea?

I'm lowered on eibach springs and have 15mm spacers front and rear and it barely rubs in the back (over large bumps).

I lowered first, and then once i realized how tucked the wheels were, i then got the spacers, then once i noticed where they rubbed, i had to roll and pull the fenders out a bit.

i think a popular setup is 10mm front / 15mm rear; that's what I did. Looks great and no rubbing. Got mine at IPD, H&R spacers. Good quality.

Agree on H&R spacers from ipd. 10-f & 15-R. The self centering taper around the i.d. is helpful in fitting them up. Use some anti-seize between the spacer and the hub to prevent corrosion between the dissimilar metals. Be sure to get longer wheel bolts too! I couldn't find any as nice as the stock ones. They're chromed and have a floating cone seat. They torque really smooth. Be sure to torque off the ground, drive around the neighborhood a bit and re-torque off the ground. I think the spec. is 103 ft. lbs. Not absolutely certain, and to lazy to look it up. Hope this helps!

Hi!

Just want to chime in here.

Are you aware of the need for different turning stoppers for different width of tires?

You are supposed to install a stopper that fit your width, to limit turning travel and prevent rubbing.

Can be had fairly cheap at the dealership. I don't remember the different color stopper for 235 tires from my head..

My 2 cents..

Edit: Looks like IPD got them add well: http://www.ipdusa.com/products/5933/113043-steering-stop-limiter

You need to try the black ones (pair).

While installing spacers, a stud conversion is not unreasonable. Looks neat and you can run racing lugs! look up motorsporthardware.com
