I think it's worth 1/2 that at best
It appears to be in fairly decent condition cosmetically.

No disrespect intend.
I very much respect JRL's opinion I am also interested in other from around the country too.
LOL I have a 99R with 140k new head and ass load of other stuff done to it for $7k+
with pegs , new tires , all new vaccum lines and intercooler llines new rad plugs , tranny and oil , angler oil , new rad , HIDs, Ecodes and clear turns.

that price for that 98 is retarded

As a dealer I would pay even less, as they did

Looks like it's in decent shape but almost more important than the initial purchase price would be the cost to bring it back to "stage 0" condition. One could easily spend a few grand having this work done or much less if you do it yourself. Sadly, most cars with these miles need a lot of work, but there are certainly exceptions. You really don't know what you're getting until you can tell what needs to be done.
Seems high to me unless it's 100% perfect and has been brought back to stage 0 already.

KBB private party value for an excellent car is $6100 in my area, dealer retail around $8000, but again that assumes it's perfect and needs nothing. And KBB is usually at the very highest end of the spectrum.

My fear, knowing what we know about those transmissions, is that you'd be in for a $3000 tranny bill soon after you buy it.

AHHHHHH, Angel Motors!!!!

That dude is a fruit loop!!

I wanted to throw a brick or other large object threw is window but controlled myself, after one of the repairs he did to my old 760.

His pricing is WAY WAY WAY to high for all his cars. He once wanted $10k for 240 sedan that had 200k+ miles on it. Sure the car had nice paint but good god it wasn't worth $10K.

If you want to get ripped off at least go to Morgan's Volvo in Rincon Valley. They have really over priced cars but their service/mechanic is really good.

The owner, Bruce Morgan is a R nut. He has several S60Rs on the lot and is always on the lookout for more.

No it's not, plug in the miles

I could see it if it was in Berkeley, Palo Alto, or any number of other, uh, unusual zip codes out there - but in Santa Rosa; has anyone checked the water lately!?!

I did. Note I qualified my statement with in my area. My zip is 80127 if you want to check for yourself, although the values I get match the OP's zip as well.

Just trying to offer a wider spectrum of opinions. I still agree that it's high.

Edit: KBB returns prices $800-$1000 lower if I put in a pennsylvania zip code. I presume due to either the market in general, or the higher likelihood of rust out there, or whatever.

Condition is condition regardless of location. The likelihood of rust out East is far higher so you'd think that an Excellent condition car would fetch MORE rather than less since more cars out here are more likely to be afflicted with this condition. Perhaps there are just more Rs out East. I don't know. From my own experience with KBB, however, they're smoking peanuts on their numbers. Maybe the car has a bit of a market of its own based on a small cult following.
