15,000-20,000 and the priceless picture you could take of the titanium rods coming straight out of your hood!

OR, you can seriously gut the car...I bet you could shave off 300-400 lbs just from misc interier. That could be good for 3-4 tenths of a sec. Add the run of the mill mods and you would have a pretty quick car that handles that much better with less weight.
Kevin

Not that hard, ~ $6K and a good tune. Clutch will suffer but it was doable witha V70R so no problem with an S60R..

Oh please.
Now you're telling us you did 0 to 60 in 4.5?

With an AWD driven by someone who could care less about the car, it will get off the line VERY fast, and get you to sixty. Quarter mile, though, would still be MUCH slower than you'd expect to see from a 4.5 0-60 car, but if the goal to to get to sixty, a diet and a couple goodies for your R, plus some high high octane will get you there. Better have already ordered a new drivetrain though, cause you can kiss that one goodbye!

Therefore, the power is not getting down as efficiently as you might believe. A RWD should launch better as long as grip is reasonably maintained.

One BIG shot of nitrous and then the cost of a new engine and drivetrain.

It's freakin ARBITRARY! The R can reach sixty in a certain amount of time, fine... what is sixty miles per hour, though... why is that number so significant? The gear ratio lets you reach like 62 in second... so what about a car whose ratio only allows second gear to reach 58 mph? The gearshift itself may reflect a poor 0-60 time even though it can accellerate on AVERAGE much faster than an R, for example. Oh, and what about all those AMG's that can take second to 80 mph... might be a close race until sixty, but once an R or a BMW has to shift by 65 mph, the Benz will leave them in the dust! So unless you have a 0.0 second shift time with a perfectly flat powerband, uhhh, yea... it's arbitrary. I'm sure if you tried, you could think even MORE one-dimentionally.
