I use Castrol Syntec.<p>Mobil1, Redline, and Royal Purple are the best, but they're just too expensive. Castrol and Valvoline are pretty close in quality and much cheaper.<p>Just a note, most drag cars use the cheapest oil they can find. Then again, they usually get an oil change every 1/4 mile so... <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emsmilep.gif" BORDER="0">

They market it as a "fully synthetic" oil but its base is mineral oil. Unfortunately, Mobil have followed suit and have degraded the quality of Mobil1...As long as people keep buying those oils (they still sell for the same price) they will not care. I have been an avid Mobil1 user since 1989 but I stopped. For the time being, I have settle on AMSOIL. Found a cheap distributor from Ohio.<p>Yannis

Well, I didn't vote, since i do not consider Mobil DELVAC 1 to be Mobil 1. Maybe an "other" vote?<br>Why DELVAC 1? I always have it around from the diesel, extended drain intervals (with oil analysis), great level of cleaning for the engine, and the ability to suspend almost anthing for as long as it needs to. And a pour point of -65.<br>It is still a true synthetic, but at 24 bucks a gallon, cheap it ain't. Best oil I can find, though.

Redline 20w-50w in the summertime, and 10w-40w in the wintertime. However, for new engine run-in (up to 5,000 miles or so) I use Kendall GT1 Turbo 10w-40w/20w-50w (the stuff that Big Daddy Don Garlits uses).<p>Oh, and mechanics love to work on cars that have been using Pennzoil all their life. Talk about carbon deposits and sludge galore!!! That stuff is crap!<p>-he who stacks pork
