Hi all,
I'm looking at a wagon newer than my beloved 94 855T w/ 165K, and I've recently come across an '04 v70 T5 with 89K on it. Is there a FAQ or other source to read to know any specific maintenance issues or common problems for one of these? All I've found so far is this mention in the "Model Information" sticky ( http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=74265 ) that says the ETM is a common problem.
Anything else specific to look for? Thanks for the input.

Same as any other Volvo;
Service records, service records, service records and has the tranny been flushed?

Re: what to look for in an '04 V70T5 (JRL)

Service records are available from 46K -> current. I'll ask about the tranny flush... per http://new.volvocars.com/owner....html
I see that Volvo recommends flushes at 52,500 mile intervals, but only if the vehicle is used for towing.
Do you disagree with that suggested interval, JRL? I found a thread at v70xc.com where you and others discussed timing belts changes of 105K vs 120K, where Volvo says 120, but mechanics and others felt that 105K is a much better idea. Is the transmission flush a similar issue?
Thanks.

Volvo's recommended service interval for transmission oil has been found to be inadequate. The transmission on these should be flushed every 30k with the correct Volvo synthetic transmission fluid; regardless of whether the car has been used for towing.

I believe the ETM issue was fixed in '03 and up, so no worries there.

Is that the recommended transmission flush interval for an 855 also? It's not the same timing belt- my 855 says 70K....

So I figure if the fluid looks like fresh fluid it's good, and if not, change it, right?
