Re: What rotor options are available for the P2 S60 R (Helmut Ranff)

Stock? Slotted? Cross Drilled?... There are rotors for it, as factory is always an option... Cheers bud... I was there just 7 hours ago...

Here, I don't feel I was helpful enough on my first response, especially factoring in inebriation... Click on the link for all said types of rotors for the R
http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/...60-br

DRT states:
04-07 V70 R Slotted Rotors F+R Set Premium 4 pcs
This is our premium version made for drivers who want the best of the best. Front rotors are made from 100% genuine Volvo rotor. Each rotor is made to the exact OEM specification. Our premium grade rotor exceeds the quality of your stock rotor. It is made from the highest quality metallurgy. Every rotor is cast in an ISO 9000 facilities. Direct bolt-on no modification is required. DRT sport brake rotors are designed to replace your stock rotors and increase brake performance. Each rotor is powder coated on the center hat and outer edge in Red or Black or Silver to help prevent rusting.
I don't know if its bad English, but the three italicized sentences seem to contradict themselves. Their FAQs are hard to read, too.
And there are no details on the weight or metal composition.

Quote, originally posted by GiRaff3 »

$550 for a set of 4 rotors, cross drilled and slotted with the hats powder coated either red, black, or silver...not bad

Does anyone know this company? Re: What rotor options are available for the P2 S60 R (Helmut Ranff)

Just sent this e-mail to DRT about the possibility of a group buy. We'll see.
I am a member of the Swedespeed.com forums and your products have recently been a topic of discussion. There would in all likelyhood, be several members who would be interested in your rotor and pads. What kind of group buy discount could we get for your products. Here is the link for the discussion on your rotors. http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=117218
Look forward to hearing from you
Thanks-
Bob

Re: (Lightspeed)

I bought a set of 4 slotted rotors from DRT recently. I found the price to be good and the shipping/delivery/timing was pretty good too.
I got the fronts as OEM "Volvo" rotors which were slotted, and the backs as OEM-Equivalents which were slotted. I had SS lines and new (Hawk HPS) brake pads for all for corners put on at the same time.
The rear rotor/new pad combination didn't work exactly right. Either the pads or the rotors were too thick - my guy had to grind down the brake pads a bit (like 1/16th I think) to fit them over the new rotors. I can't say for sure if it was the Hawk pads or the rotors which were too thick. The front OEMs had no problem.
I got black powder coating and it tooks great with the black sapphire exterior. I took some pictures and I think I promised to post them for someone, but I just haven't yet.

You want 2 piece rotors?
http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/...70-br
or
http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/...70-br
You can find some for the rear, but the "parking brake hat" on the rotor can be an issue.
Re: What rotor options are available for the P2 S60 R (Helmut Ranff)

I'm doing a set of custom rotor hats to fit 355mm slotted rotors from AP racing for the fronts. Using stock calipers with custom brackets to fit. Just sent the designs to a CNC shop and waiting for quotation.
For the rears I'll be trying out frozen slotted rotors.
Going to switch to carbotech brake pads - they make them for the Rs now http://www.ctbrakes.com/brake-compounds.html
Apparently the UK folks seem to say that these ceramic pads are even better than PFC and more friendly on the rotors. XP12 compound would equate to PFC 05 compound in terms of brake torque. XP16 could be too much of an overkill...

I purchased 4 cross drilled rotors from DRT last summer for $400
I could not pass up the price
The rotors have been fantastic so far! I also had them cryo treated as well.
Hope this helps you guys get a better price in the GB.
