I was cleaning my engine yesterday and noticed a plastic hose coming from a box that says Byte Exchange (which was replaced at 69K miles) and it has some baffles in the center that is broken with holes in it. The part number is 3545307. Wondering what it is and I figure I ought to replace it. It seems to go towards the radiator. Here's the pics. sorry they don't come up in the thread. I've tried everything and it just doesn't work like it used to on my PC. I posted something on this in the test pics section, but still haven't got it right. I'm using shutterfly and a mac and then highlighting the address and clicking insert both web link or image and neither one works. I'll keep practicing. I never had a problem before with a PC and IE...never worked with mozilla firefox and PC.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/proc...Ry3b0
http://im1.shutterfly.com/proc...Ry3b0

You're talking about the part that goes from the radiator to the ECU/TCM box behind the washer fiuid neck? I think it's just a ventatlation pipe for the ECU and TCM. I don't know if I have the holes in the baffles but I'll check in a bit for you.
Re: What is this part? (Volvo Grrrr)

I just replaced mine. It was full of holes in the baffel area and finally broke into two pieces. Got a replacement part from the dealer and installed. Very easy. I think the part was $13 or so, cant quite remember.
I was told it is to help the ECU stabilize its temp during the warm and cold seasons.
Eric

Re: What is this part? (black R)

Great. Thanks. Is the number I gave the right part number? I got it right off the piece.
