Dunno, they were here this morning. Server hiccup maybe?

cheers,

just finishing up a day of tuneups and oil changes - motor mounts are even less fun than they look.
All fixed.

You can thank the VWvortex. They crashed the server today and hosed some files.

Well, there back. When I was last at the main page for the forums, all the forums that had previously had posts still did, but the 200 showed zero. I know I hit reload a few times just to make sure. Now the main forum page shows the correct number again, so I don't know what happened, but it's back to what it should be.

So, does your car feel quiet and smooth with new motor mounts? They made a huge difference on my car, but mine were sheared off, leaving the oil filter to hold the engine in place.

The driver's side one was the only bad one, completely sheared, The car seemed a little smoother, and hopefully it won't kill any more radiators (that was the clue that the mount was bad).

Good to see all the posts back.

cheers,
scott
JUST A STUPID QUESTION BUT DID YOU CHECK THE OTHER MOTOR MOUNTS? CAUSE ON MINE THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS BROKE PIERCING THE OIL FILTER CAUSING A OIL LEAK ( A MASSIVE ONE)
YOU REALLY SHOULD CHANGE ALL OF THEM. i ALSO CHANGED THE TRANNY MOUNT. IT WAS THE EASIEST TO CHANGE OUT OF ALL OF THEM, BUT THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS INDEED THE HARDEST. JUST TRYING TO HELP. JUST TELL ME TO SHUT UP IF YOU THINK I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. I WON'T BE OFFENDED. PEACE.

I glanced at them, no signs of failure, but you're probably right. From the looks of things outside, that's a project that will have to wait until spring. I'm pretty sure that most of the suspension rubber is toast too.

cheers,
scott
