Hi there!

Maybe some tuner here can help me a little... First off: no, it ain't a T5! Nor a Volvo engine but it is fitted in a C30/S40/V50 :) -> 2.0l non turbo petrol.

I'm currently searching for a new exhaust manifold/header. Luckily, as it is a Ford engine, the manifolds are out there, but there are two styles with equal lengths:

4-2-1 (4 pipes into 2 and then into 1)
4-1 (4 pipes into 1)

Which one of both is the better style or which can give the best performance increase?

Anyone have any ideas? Both style sellers say their version is of course the best but they can't tell me why.

GENERALLY speaking the 4-2-1 is better an lower revs. (torque biased)
4-1 better at high rpm (peak HP biased)

I would pick the 4-2-1 for street & occasional track use.

Cheers! I'll be going for a 4-2-1 one. So that should be okay :)
