Hope I can test yours! I have a small spot too.
...and cleaned these horrible burns/dirty spots on the headliner also from the PO. I bought a bunch of AMMO NYC stuff as a non-believer, but WOW am I convinced. Larry's stuff is bomb.
First picture before, largest thing is like a fingernail size.
Second, after AMMO Shag sat for a bit. Honestly I don't even think I needed to agitate beforehand, though I did, it lifted everything out and I just wiped it off. Crazy.
Last, after. No weird stains left over, no discoloration from the product. 10/10 would use again. Also pulled some stains from my visors!

Our local specialist replaced the easy/cheap to replace brake sensor. Its the black cylindrical plastic thing, with a long polished metal plunger, that plugs into the body of the brake servo. Joy upon joy the new part came in a lovely blue Volvo box, so I'm hoping for better quality than some of the pattern parts I've seen of late...

The reason to fit the new part is an attempt to cure an intermittent amber warning light and accompanying polite message in Japanese... I'm told that it's this part OR/AND the very expensive replacement of the one integrated in the servo itself that are behind the warning.

After about 500 miles driving I can say that it appears to have stayed out (ok - it came on once, but has since stayed out)

In all my other driving since buying the car, the warning would always come on on any journey over 30-odd miles or if the car had been used multiple times in a day.

Anyhow, fingers crossed.

Also, I've asked our local Volvo specialist to order the English language software patch. This has to be ordered directly from Volvo and to my knowledge this can only be done with an official VIDA account. Of course I could be wrong on that, but I prefer to buy it through an official channel.

Lastly, my order for obscure trim parts and other items is still with Volvo Classic Warehouse (via the same specialist) who apparently are being hopelessly unresponsive at the moment. I'm also told that Volvo appear to have in the last year run stocks very low / stopped supplying some previously easy to obtain parts for the older cars - almost as though they are trying to force them off the road. I really hope this is not true.

The 850 guys are talking about hoarding parts cars. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Apropos of this, I sent a trunk full of p80 parts , including a 21k AG, to the Indy today for an install. Hopefully it’ll come back all in one piece:

Been driving my r around a little but since the rebuild and it drives awesome, but I'm half regretting going with an smf over the dual mass. It sounds like a cement mixer filled with rocks at idle which drives me nuts. However it shifts incredibly well and downshifting and driving in general with the smf is so much more enjoyable with how the engine revs so easily. Currently using Volvo MTF, anyone have any experience using severe gear to quiet it up a bit? Was thinking of using 75w110.

I'm in the middle of doing the same change over on my T5 M66 to SMF+OE Clutch+PP. I did a lot of digging and read that Amsoil Severe Gear is a good solution to quiet down the trans a little bit. 75W-90. When mine is finished I'll report back with results, although I'll have little to compare it to besides the OE setup.

You get used to the single mass noise.
I am hopeful, but being that I work on these cars for a living, every little noise and clunk has the ability to drive me crazy. Sometimes knowledge can be painful. :-( If the severe gear quiets it down even a little bit I would be overjoyed.

Is there a type of ARD news other than bad?

ARD news? Bad tune?

Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
No, I have to say the Tune, as well as the TCM tune, are great. It just hurts how much I put into Robert to do this project. At this point, it's not about the money spent and pats not in hand. or work not done. It would just be nice to know what actually was done. At this point, it's looking like a total rebuild as He won't even tell me what I have. I hope he sees this and I can say he stepped up to A customer / Friend

When I look at the invoice I am thrilled with what I paid for. I hope you see this Robert and will reach out to help me.

I would ike to aak that this doesn't turn into a bash ARD thread. we have been there.

Put some $3 china windshield fluid nozzles on. Not proud of my self, but they work, and all the ones from the junkyard have busted tabs.

Also, I need the stupid red courtesy lights on the edge of door cards, where's a good source for them? Somehow my kids keep kicking them out? I need to finish gluing all the door card too, I suppose.
