I’m thinking of starting a thread like on the R forum.

Well I just order the maintenance kit for my T5 from FCPEuro. It includes:
Air filter
Cabin filter
Oil filter
5 OEM sparkplugs
Oil crush washer

I have a project for next weekend.

If you do receive the correct crush washer I would very much like to know the part number. I have ordered them everytime I ordered oil filters and they never match the original. Thanks in advance if you take the time!

What's been different about them? My '13 just came off S&S warranty so I'll be doing my own maintenance from here on out. But all my others over the years - from the '94 850 to the '11 XC90 - have used the same crush washers without issue.

Here's a link to my site: https://parts.volvopointeclaire.com...rbo/_51507_5702542/Sump--Oil-pan/GR-3631.html

The part number is 977751.

Don't forget that it is very possible that the replacement part number will not be identical to the part that was installed at factory...

Same one I've been using for all of mine, regardless of platform. Still have about a half dozen in the garage. One less thing to buy!

(Back in the day, before I became a snooty Volvo owner, I'd just make my own oil drain plug washer from a plastic lid.)

Plastic? Never thought of that. I will remember that if I need to do an emergency oil change. I usually order the filters by the case and get the matching # of crush washers.
The c70 filter is longer than my R, even though they are both 2.5’s.

Thanks guys, I was searching for crush washers for the drain plug on the site and probably should have used the term drain plug washer. I have about 4 different crush washers now that don't fill the bill. No worries! I have the correct number now!

Yeah, I wouldn't do that now, being wiser and less of a cheapskate. Besides, I think today's plastics are more degradable so I don't know that they would survive the heat/exposure to oil between changes.

Yep, the P1 filters are longer. It was nice when I could buy a case of filters that fit all of the cars. But at least now 3 out of the 4 have the same one.

fumoto valve has been working great. one benefit is no more need for drain plug washers.

just had shifter blind and ignition switch replaced. blind was falling apart and making it hard to shift, not to mention ugly gap staring at me every day. ignition switch has been giving the symptoms of 2-3 tries to start car intermittently the past 2 winters so while they had the waterfall and dash apart for the shifter blind, i just had them replace that too to save a bit from combining the labor. hate being stranded or the idea of key being stuck.

bigger expense was labor for getting the leaking coolant hose (another common failure) replaced.

potentially could have done some of this work myself. but not enough free time these days for "fun" projects like this... hoping not to have many more expenses though for a while.

I've done that too. I have 10 washers for something. Too small. I'll have to find out what I bought. LOL.

I like to buy from FCP because of the lifetime warranty and their reputation. The return policy is great. Disclaimer: i don't work for them.

Had a weird thing happen, last oil change I put the car up on my front wheel ramps and low and behold the splash pan was gone! I had it at the dealer 3 hours away last Feb and they did a 65K check up but didn't change the oil as I do that now.
Oddly, they seem to have one for the exact model "loose" at the shop but say they didn't take mine off. They will give it to me if I drive down to pick it up, yea, and that is where I bought two vehicles. I checked the mount threads and they are undamaged so I don't think I had it ripped off but it is possible as I drove those three hours home in one of the worst winter storm conditions I have experienced.
We were the only ones to make it to the interstate after 25 miles of solid ice out of a 4 vehicle convoy at 10 miles an hour including a semi tractor/trailer, Silverado, and a SUV. Volvo rules!

Going to Omaha to catch a flight to Seattle again so hope to pick it up then. So, sorry if off topic some, but it is something that I WILL be doing to my car soon.
