can someone educate me on this? It seems like the only cars that causes understeers are FWD or FWD biased AWD but I know this isn't true since the Lamborghini Murcielago and Gallardo understeers too..... so what factors determines over/understeer?

Reason being is that understeer is easier to correct for the average driver while oversteer "scares" people and usually results in spinning out. This is because the average driver naturally applies brake when something goes wrong. While understeering, braking will usually correct the car, while oversteering braking will not. |

Yup, that's why BMW setup the e46 to understeer - they dialed some of it back a couple of years into the model lifecycle but it's still there. |
