Re: What are the advantages of a dual muffler exhaust? (Revolve40)

I'm thinking there is no real advantage to a dual muffler setup. It may sound good, depending what mufflers you use, think iPd's C30 with Motorcycle mufflers. I hear it sounded really mean. As far as more flow, I don't know if your limited to how much flow you're going to be able to increase with only having one downpipe coming off the motor then spliting into two pipes. So my post is more or less usless and not a lot of help. Sorry.

Dual mufflers are more efficient then a single with dual outlets. They also sound better.
However their is a power loss compared to a single muffler.
EDIT: Any one have a sound clip of that C30 with motorcycle exhaust? I like the idea

I once saw a heavily modified BMW 318, when he reved his engine it sounded just like a motorcycle.
It was amazing. I have no idea how he pulled that off, but Im banking he had a motorcycle exhaust. That being said, which exhaust is chosen will make a world of difference.
The R6 has a pretty mellow tone, while the Hayabusa sounds like crap
