Whatever goes here fell off my 2018 XC 60 today. What’s this called to order a replacement? Bonus points if you can tell me what the correct part number would be for Electric Silver.

Thanks!

It is called the “lid” which is the tow eye cover plate. There are two different part numbers and I cannot decipher which is which TJ01/TJ03 or TJ02. Here is a pic. I was after after the bonus points.

Here is a link for a dealer with online parts:

Same thing happened to me today. I searched around and found a place that will order the part, paint it to specs based on VIN data and paint color you provide and then ship it to you....all for around $125. I think the base part (unpainted) can be found elsewhere for less than $30. BTW - difference between part numbers is the front bumper vs rear.

Name of the place where I ordered mine from is "Painted OEM Parts" and can be found here: https://www.paintedoemparts.com
They are based out of Colorado and they state 7-10 business days for delivery within US.

This is a known problem due to poor design. You need to be careful because the parts fall out ;);)

Exist for "MOMENTUM". "INSCRIPTION" towing eye, and for "R-DESIGN" the same price $ 22.90

Do you go to a carwash? Mine got blown off by the pressure washer and luckily they save many of these pieces from all makes and models of cars.

My solution was to get a tiny strip of duct tape about 1/4" wide and wrap it once around the stub that goes into the bumper. The stub is just a hair too thin and makes it easy to pop the piece off if your car needs a tow. I lost my rear one but the dealer replaced it under warrant. The front came off and I just so happened to ask the person at the car wash register if they had the piece, she opened up the drawer and there must have been over 25 pieces. Luckily I found it and saved over $100 to replace it.

The front bumper "tow hook cover" requires more effort to remove than the rear. I'm surprised it came off unintentionally.
