I'm still thinking about buying a 2004 V70R from a private seller in Austin, TX. A family friend will be visiting Austin this weekend and has offered to check it out for me.
I live in Monterey, CA, which is NOT covered by SMOG 2 (or whatever they call the more stringent testing). I've never had trouble smogging my cars...since I sold my carbueratored 74 TR6 and 85 CJ7.
I doubt any 2004 V70R will fail the SMOG test. CA doesn't require it until new cars are 4 years old, but I'm not sure about "imported" cars.
Just to be sure, I'd like to know if there are any equipment or software differences between CA and non-CA cars. Can anyone help me out?
thanks,
Eric Lee
