I had a day at the drag strip and could only pull 14.5's on a slippery track with little experience trying to lauch my car. Wrxownr was consistently pulling 2.20 60ft times and I was consistently at 2.5. His best was 14.2 and mine was 14.5.
We both have some minor mods done....exhaust and intake type. However, I don't think this is critical due to the complex nature of launching the R. If you get a good launch you'll see some better numbers.
Kevin

Were you able to break the tires loose or did you bog down?
What RPMs were you launching from?
By far biggest improvements I saw in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times on G-Tech were when I was launching off of 225 snow tires that broke loose on launch and prevented bog and the worn out pirellis on the Volvo car I drove at Advanced driver training.

Re: Went to Track... Baseline Numbers Found ("R" Kelly)

getting the narrowest/hardest tires you can, to spin rather than bog at launch is an experiment I'd like see someone run.....
I don't know if going with narrow, hard tires is the best idea,
yes you want to spin but you don't want what I think would be
the result of just roasting the tires. Just launch at 4K rpm's will
prevent.
4K Will give you a nice squawk and then it grabs and go's.
Launch street start style with maybe 2K rpm's and you'll bog for sure.0
BTW, I've got OEM Pirelli P-Zero's. Still have plenty of miles left on em.
too many 4K launches will lead to a failed clutch................

That's true.
But I'm not going to do that ever, except for to as now, establish
base numbers, then later for some testing of different tuner eqpt.
If I ever get it.
Me, I wouldn't even take a Euro to a strip, their not built for it.
IF, I was going to race, it would be roll and go from like 10-20
up to about 80-100 max.
That's where Euro cars are engineered to perform and any modding
simply amplifies factory engineering results.
You can't buck it without spending gobs of crazy cash to undo what the
car rolled of the line with.
