There was a race day scheduled for sunday at carlsbad raceway. Leaving my house It was sunny and the air was cool. I drove the fourty or so miles up there and what do I find, RAIN!, pad locks on the gate. Talk about dissapointment. So I head home and on the freeway I am crusing an easy 90mph and I see a new mercedes benz 420E with a sports package weaving traffic. I catch him and the driver gives me a kind of scoff look and shakes his head. He starts to pull away and I pace him to about 110mph. He looks over at me and I wave by by, and floor it. He floors it also but it's no use for him. Traffic is pretty light so I run the R to the upper limits of the speedo and he's about 8-10 car lengths back there. I start to slow and when he catches me he gives me a wide eye look and then takes the next exit. It was fun, but in no way made up for a missed day at the track. Hopefully next sunday the weather will be cool, but with no rain at the track.

Ahh, behold the beauty of turbochared cars, as nothing can touch them on the highway.

I remember in an older past (annual record issues) of Motor Trend they had the original 95' 850 T5-R wagon as the fastest accelerating car from around 30 mph onwards.

Speaking of races, I was out driving Saturday night with my brother to show him the new car...As we were moving, maybe 75 mph or so, I can see a civic and RSX weaving back and forth behind me. We figured, even if we didn't beat them, it would be fun to see how far the car would go stock. Much to our surprise, and delight, we took off on those car like nothing. Having the pedal down about 3/4 of the way, we were keeping a steady 2-3 car lengths between us, moving about 110 mph...having our fun, we took the next exit and turned around...but to our surprise once again, the RSX follows us...turning around back on the expressway, we took off again this time with the pedal floored...once he saw us pulling away as fast as we were, he gave up...needless to say, it was a fun night...

Yeah, i totally know what you're talking about.
I actually test-drove an RSX Type S, oh god, what a piece O Sh1t. After being used to my T-5R, this car just isn't near the quality, power or handling that i'm used to.
The powerband feels so weak, even in the VTEC, there's nothing appealing about the 200 horses in this car, other than the fact that i'll be kicking their butts all summer.
