So here it is, first I was talking with some new friends, who had never seen my car. One asked what I had, when I replied a volvo turbo wagon, he said, "How fast could a volvo turbo wagon possibly be." Hehe, little does he know these little sleepers are nuts. I was the second fastest import car at the track, only beaten by a turbocharged Maxima who did a 14.44. The funniest part was the damn announcer, He was great. I get up to the starting black area, and he walks over to my car, announces to the hole crowd, that we have a sleek wagon. He didnt even know what it was, He goes, "What the F*** is that." I went up against a camero Z28, late eighties maybe, and the announcer thought that he would beat me on the track and in the bracket. I was a better picker for this bracket racing, I beat him there, and I beat him on the track. He wont talk to me now though, I tried to tell him good race, but he wanted nothing to do with it. This was my first time to the track too, it was fun, Im going again tomarrow.

I dont have my sheet with me, A local shop has it so they can Dyno my car. I dont know why, I dont know anything about Dynoing, but they said by using this info they can get more accurate numbers or something. I know my Quarter cuz I was so excited about that, it was 14.89, er something like that. I think my speed was over 100 miles an hour, like 101. I had very little to know traction problems. I was using a good grippy tire, and not reving to high before I let off the brake. I did pretty well. Ok no it wasnt over 100, it was 96 mph. my 60 ft was 2.3. I think I got that right. Im talking to the guy online, he is writing it in for me, but he is also very busy.

Pretty impressive 1/4-mile time and speed! What mods do you have?

I have a manuel boost controller that bypasses the ECU's control over the turbo. Basicly this will all be changed with more reliable stuff soon, but I had a muscle car mechanic guy work on it with me. He helped me do a lot of it. We changed the air box so it has a big insolated cold air inlet. The turbo is insolated on the cold side along with all the piping. K&N air filter is used also. I hope to do much better with the BSR Stage 3 kit, my final goal basicly. I want the ECU, Race Cat, Cat Back, Open element intake, and then some final tuning.

I am a bit confused however here. Not to say that 14.89 isnt a good number, but its not that much faster than the stock turbo's number. I believe that it tested out at 15.1, wait Ill go get my magazine, hehe, I have the Car and Driver were it came in first over the BMW, MB, and Audi. Car and Driver, March 1996, incase any of you are wondering. ok it did a 15.5 at 90 mph for the quartermile, 0-60 in 7.2 seconds, and topped out at 144. So im about6 tenths of a second faster, thats something I guess. What do you guts normally get on the 1/4.

When my car was stock, I ran a best of 15.3 in the 850 Turbo.

The 960 runs a 15.6. The Miata runs a 14.9 (jackson racing supercharger). The Porsche does a 13.1 with only exhaust.

Right now, I'm lucky if I'm getting a 15, mainly cuz my chip is in the shop, still getting it worked on!!!

I don't know how much drag racing experience you have, but I bet the drivers for the magazines are more experienced. I'm sure they do several runs and take the best one, and they probably don't run at a drag strip where traction can be poor. Basically, if you equalled the printed time with a stock car, you'd be doing quite well. 14.89 sounds great even with a few mods. I think your speed was probably in the high 90's, if I had to guess.

A good bit of time can be gained with improved 60ft times.

Yeah sorry, that was all off memory, and most of it was wishful thinking, hehe. I was talking to the guy who had my sheet, and he was reading it to me wrong. I did a 14.9 at 97 mph, and I was also told buy this guy that the machine may have messed up a little, as the times dont make a lot of sense in some other areas. I dont know, Ill keep you posted if I find there is a problem.

Ok so I went back, the computer is working fine now, and I did much worse. It was taking almose a second off everyones times, almost. I was sick this time, and my launches sucked, I was working in slow motion. Still they are more accurate now. I never got below 15, actually I didnt get below 15.5 once. My speed ranged from 88-94 mph this time around. I do have a few problems with my engine at the moment, but basicly its the same as last time. Being sick sucks.
