So, its rainy here, just did my PhuzHDTCV and PhuzFMIC, went for a short drive, broke in the TCV, went for another short drive, jumped on it from a dead stop (didnt dump the clutch), heard a metal on metal sound, kinda like a clap with a grind, rather loud. Car is now FWD or so it feels (lights up front tires from stop).

Would there be a CEL that would come on? Has anyone ever broken a rear end before? I searched, read thru some topics, but I thought I'd still ask.

How can I test if AWD is working and/or find whats broken other than putting it on a lift in 1st gear? :p

yeah this happened to me recently, it's pretty likely that you need a new collar sleeve

collar sleeve replacement should be considered "maintenance"

To check AWD, just put front wheels on something slippery, if you don't spring forward like normally, you're FWD, and if you light up the tires in 2nd speed, you are also FWD...
