That map data is probably a bit stale. For instance, I’m no longer in N.C., but am unable to edit and move my entry. So keep that in mind.
Not to be buzzkill but there's this...

Looks like the original plan was/is for at the new plant.

As you were...
I used SC as a potential location in my article based on the Facebook page comments. If there is a better location, let's make it known. :)
Sounds like fun!!!

How about the middle of the country!!! St. Louis, Missouri....... :)
We need more people! I can donate multiple Volvos with drivers so I'm worth like 2 at least lol

I'll volunteer to man Springfield or Rudolf... ;) when pigs fly and ducks snort of course...
My daughter and I traditionally do a road trip every summer, nothing planned for next year yet so we could try to incorporate this...

even if timing isn't right for that I'd still be interested depending on date/location
As a world record holder, I would thoroughly enjoy adding another to the mantle!
Depending on the location I would probably be in. Sounds like fun.

When and Where? I'm down.
Love these initiatives!

But...be aware that there is a similar one planned in the UK (at 31 March 2019) with 600 cars I believe : see https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=285437

AND

There was a similar yearly event in The Netherlands this year with +2000 cars, they came from all over Europe, Ask Jared, he has been there!
Should be one in 2019 again, and heared they might do the Guiness Book Of Records thing also.
I should be able to contribute 2. All depends on location and time
Do South Carolina plant. I can bring my two..possible three, if I get the paperwork and everything else completed soon. Something special is in the works for being imported.. All I can say about that is Loopholes baby! Loopholes!
I can bring 1 car and I'll even bring the Guinness! :partywave:
Drink Alcoholic beverage Distilled beverage Beer glass Beer

Yeah.......if anyone besides maybe Sweden thinks they can beat the Netherlands....all I can say is good luck. Lol. Ever been on the way to a Volvo meet and you're cruising along seeing car after car that's also on the way to said Volvo meet? I don't mean like one or two cars, probably most of us have had that happen....I mean like 20 or 30. It was insane. It'd be like if you went to Carlisle and it was like twice as big and ONLY Volvos. It was a truly mind blowing experience. If only people camped out like they do at Carlisle so there would be enough time to actually take it all in.
Hell, it’s been a while since I went to a big car meet - guess I should jump back in and help out the Volvo community!😎

Assuming the date lines up to when I’m back in the US from Afghanistan I’ll come in my V70R 😁😎

Pssst.... if we do this in Maryland, there's a brand new Guinness Brewery that opened about 4 months ago about 15 minutes West of Baltimore City on the way to D.C.
It is the only in North America and I think the only one outside of Ireland. They offers tours and events.

Baltimore Harbor with both Camden Yards and Ravens Stadium complex, where they hold car events, and even stage the Baltimore GP, is ~15 minutes back in the other direction.

Just a thought.

Weather wise.
Best months for this region are May - mid-July. It gets uncomfortably hot and humid after this. September is hurricane and rain season. No bueno.
Early thru mid-October can be dicey, but late October through Mid-November are generally tepid to cool but stable weather with the added bonus of trees hitting peak color in the 3rd week of October (generally).
