Last night while driving I noticed the orange triangle with exclamation point was lit.
So, I check my message box and see ANTI-SKID TEMPORARILY DISABLED and then there was another message CHASSIS SETTINGS OFF.
What the heck???!!!
After about 10 minutes of driving they go off and everything returns to normal.
It was very rainy so maybe something got shorted?
But, it appears to me that something was updating in my computer that temporarily disabled the anti-skid.
It really makes me wonder because I just had my software upgraded for a SERVICE ENGINE message I had that started last Friday.

That's your R's way of saying, "I'm sorry Eric, I'm afraid I can't do that."
Didn't know Volvo engineered HAL2000?
-Eric

Sorry about that it was me. I pushed my DSTC button 7 and 1/2 times... clearly you did not read your owners manual.
-Caleb

Re: Weird message last night in my dash menu. (Eric_H)

Gee I hope I can contribute to all these helpful replies.
The first message was due to some sort of sensor fault or anomalous data. If the readings make no sense, the car's electronics falls back to a failsafe mode, and provides the message as a warning. The fact that it was raining (and presumably slippery) makes me think it was probably a wheel sensor. For example, I get that message on a dyno, when the system sees the fronts going 100mph and the rears standing still.
If the messages cleared on their own, and don't return, then I would not be concerned. If they come back, then it may be a hardware problem.
Tom.
